Your role within the team 

We are looking for an enthusiastic Product Development Associate who can join our team and work collaboratively with the broader teams to provide support across our portfolio of products. While based in Melbourne, the PD Associate will support product development and launches into existing and emerging markets across the Middle East and India. 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Support and manage new product development and reformulation projects within the Middle East and India pipeline  

  • Support product registration in each market, including technical review of specifications, dossier preparation and provide technical advice  

  • Work with project team to accelerate innovations by taking lead in technical discussions with manufacturers and internal stakeholders such as Regulatory and Quality teams -  

  • Collaborate with Marketing and Science teams to generate new concepts for our Swisse NPD pipeline  

  • Act as the communication hub between ANZ and MEI to achieve greater synergies - In conjunction with Quality, investigate product challenges and provide technical recommendations for improvements

To make sure we’re setting new starters up for success, we ask that you meet a few criteria relevant to the role to be considered for this opportunity: 

  • Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in complementary medicines, nutrition or food industries 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Food Technology or similar Applied Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences and Formulation Chemistry  

  • Good understanding of regulatory environment across Asia, emerging markets and Middle East and India for the vitamins and dietary supplement industry 

  • Experience developing products or formulations from concept to launch or supporting the improvements of existing products  

  • Ability to assess and put together raw materials to ensure robust product formulations - Experience with product assessments such as sensory evaluations, analytical testing or stability protocols  

  • Experience developing products or formulations from concept to launch or supporting the improvements of existing products  

  • Have knowledge of regulatory environments (e.g. TGA or FSANZ)  

  • Strong understanding or interest in the Australian & Global complementary medicine markets. Viewed from both a commercial and technical perspective  

  • Experience creating technical briefs/product formulation briefs  

  • Ability to critically evaluate raw materials and experience assessing specifications and samples for suitability of use 

  • Experience sharing information to cross-functional teams in a meaningful format that makes technical detail easy to understand  

  • Familiar with processes such as change control and document control  

  • Experience working with contract manufacturers and ingredient suppliers
