Your role within the team 
 
The Digital Manager (Grocery) role is responsible for the strategic development and growth of our brands within our grocery channels online – including but not limited to Woolworths, Coles, and Woolworths NZ (Countdown). You will play a key role in our digital growth strategy, leading customer relationships and developing and executing account joint business plans – including perfect store delivery, co-op execution, Retail Media buying, data analysis and endless aisle designing and implementation – all to achieve executional, financial, marketing and operational targets and ensure sustainable long-term success. 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Deliver eRetail and omni-channel commercial objectives (top- and bottom- line numbers) through trading and joint business/category plans, promotional programs, and operational improvements  

  • Develop and execute Retail Media plans – driving improved media effectiveness and ROI  

  • Utilise analytics tools to monitor online performance and digital shelf metrics, optimise digital media performance, and develop best-in-class content, portfolio, and promotional strategies  

  • Collaborating with internal teams including sales, marketing, commercial finance etc. to ensure that our eRetail/omni-channel plans are delivering on our strategic ambitions, contributing to overall business goals, and creating joint value for our eRetail partners and consumers  

  • Develop eRetail/omni-channel execution plans support big brand campaigns, tactical initiatives, and new product launches across various consumer goods categories 

Desired Skills and Experience  

We look for people who have what it takes to make an impact; who can challenge us to go further while pushing themselves to deliver exciting and ambitious results.  

To make sure we’re setting new starters up for success, we ask that you meet a few criteria relevant to the role to be considered for this opportunity: 

  • 5+ years' experience in Sales or Account Management (eCommerce or emerging account management preferred) or Shopper/Trade Marketing 

  • Experience with Australian or international grocery retailers preferred 

  • Experience in new business development, negotiation and partnering with retailers to develop strategic growth plans  

  • Strong understanding of digital path-to-purchase and opportunities to influence consumer behaviour 

  • Experience developing creative solutions to overcome customer or business challenges or capture incremental opportunities.  

  • Confident managing internal processes including collaboration with work areas such as sales, finance, supply, marketing, design, product development etc.  

  • Digital Marketing and eCommerce experience or qualifications, including sales channels (Amazon, eBay etc.), marketing tools and channels (Search, Display, Email), and analytics platforms (preferred) 

  • Leadership and/or coaching experience either via managing direct reports or internal capability building (preferred) 

  • Experience in working with retailer-specific data, analytics, or advertising platforms (e.g. Quantium, Citrus) highly regarded
