Your role within the team 

As the Senior Category Development Manager, Customer Lead, you will play a pivotal part in driving strategic category growth and fostering strong retailer partnerships. This role is responsible for delivering data-driven insights, collaborating closely with sales, marketing, and business management teams to optimise brand and channel plans. You’ll lead the identification of new merchandising opportunities, manage and enhance planograms, and coach team members, ensuring continuous development. Leveraging your experience in FMCG, advanced analytical skills, and ability to influence at all levels, you will help position H&H as the go-to partner for category leadership and innovation.

 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Champion the category, serving as an objective expert for both H&H and our retail partners. 

  • Drive strong retailer relationships and be the partner of choice for category data and insight. 

  • Collaborate closely with sales and marketing teams to ensure brand, innovation, and channel strategies are driven by insights. 

  • Work alongside Business Managers to develop channel, account, and Joint Business Plans (JBP), leading portfolio opportunity analysis for key retail partners. 

  • Identify and execute opportunities to expand our merchandising footprint, managing and optimising planograms based on data-driven insights. 

  • Mentor and develop the Category Analyst, fostering continuous growth and capability within the team.

 

Desired Skills & Experience

To make sure we’re setting new starters up for success, we ask that you meet a few criteria relevant to the role to be considered for this opportunity: 

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar capacity within the FMCG sector. 
  • Demonstrated capability to analyse both quantitative and qualitative data, transforming them into practical business insights. 
  • Track record of successfully influencing and collaborating with cross-functional teams at all organisational levels. 
  • Proven experience in customer-facing roles, particularly working with major retail partners. 
  • Proficient user of IQVIA and Nielsen data tools; familiarity with Quantium is highly regarded. 
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
