Your role within the team
Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Senior Quality Associate is responsible for supporting the effective operation of the Supply Quality function and ensuring the quality and compliance of contract manufacturers across the product lifecycle. This role acts as a key link between suppliers, manufacturers, and internal stakeholders to uphold product standards and regulatory requirements. The position oversees supplier performance programs in collaboration with Sourcing, manages quality agreements, and supports ongoing supplier engagement to drive performance and compliance. It also contributes to audit activities, including leading external audits of contract manufacturers, and supports change control processes to ensure all changes are appropriately assessed and implemented. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the role promotes a culture of continuous improvement and “Right First Time,” helping to strengthen quality systems, enhance operational efficiency, and maintain brand integrity.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement supplier and service provider evaluation questionnaires for raw materials, packaging, and external partners.
- Establish and maintain robust supplier approval and performance management processes in collaboration with the sourcing team.
- Build and manage an accurate, up-to-date supplier database, ensuring ongoing compliance and visibility
- Partner with Product Development and other stakeholders to strengthen raw material evaluation and documentation practices
- Implement and oversee structured service provider management processes, including Good Distribution Practices (GDP)
- Monitor, analyse, and report on supplier performance metrics, including defects, complaints, and CAPA effectiveness
- Facilitate regular performance review meetings with contract manufacturers, including documentation and follow-up of actions
- Provide quality oversight of contract manufacturers, including review of GMP, HACCP, CAPA, hygiene, and non-conformance management
- Support food safety training for new and existing staff, and escalate key quality risks, including OOS/OOT trends, to the Quality Manager
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities, including mock recalls, development of SOPs/WIs, and other quality and compliance initiatives

To make sure we’re setting new starters up for success, we ask that you meet a few criteria relevant to the role to be considered for this opportunity:
- Tertiary qualification in science, pharmacy, food science, or minimum 5 years’ experience in QA/Food Safety
- Certified Lead Auditor with strong expertise in PIC/s Code of GMP and ISO standards
- Extensive experience in food / pharmaceutical manufacturing and operations
- Strong knowledge of GMP and/or food safety standards (e.g. PIC/S, TGA, HACCP) and their practical application.
- Proven capability in supplier management, including performance monitoring and collaboration
- Experience leading change management initiatives and continuous improvement processes
- Skilled in implementing and maintaining quality risk management systems
- Strong analytical, communication, and organisational skills, with the ability to work autonomously and provide informed guidance based on data and experience
