Your role within the team 

We are seeking an enthusiastic Product Development Associate to support the delivery of our Pet Nutrition pipeline, working collaboratively with the broader teams to provide support across our portfolio of products. This role will play a key part in translating product concepts into successful market-ready launches, while supporting continuous improvement across our existing portfolio.

 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Support end-to-end product development across projects within the ANZ and Asia New Product Development (NPD) pipeline 

  • Translate product concepts from the Product Design team into successful product launches through close collaboration with manufacturing and ingredient partners 

  • Partner with the Sourcing team to onboard new manufacturers and drive optimisation initiatives for existing products 

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing and Science teams to develop innovative concepts for the Pet Nutrition pipeline 

  • Work closely with Quality to investigate product-related challenges and provide recommendations for continuous improvement and next steps

To make sure we’re setting new starters up for success, we ask that you meet a few criteria relevant to the role to be considered for this opportunity: 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Veterinary, Pharmaceutical, Formulation Sciences, or a related Applied Science discipline 

  • 1–2 years’ experience in pet food, food or complementary medicine, with exposure to manufacturing environments. 

  • Experience supporting product development or formulation projects from concept through to launch, including optimisation of existing products 

  • Working knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g. APVMA, FSANZ, DAFF, PFIAA) 

  • Strong understanding of, or interest in, the Australian and Asian pet food and complementary medicine markets 

  • Experience in product assessment methods such as sensory evaluation, analytical testing, or stability studies 

  • Ability to develop technical briefs and assess raw materials, specifications, and samples for suitability 

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information into clear insights for cross-functional teams 

  • Familiarity with quality and manufacturing processes (e.g. change control, document control) and experience working with contract manufacturers and suppliers
