Your role within the team 

The People & Culture Advisor plays a key role in enabling a high-performance culture by delivering proactive support across a broad range of people practices. This role partners closely with leaders, team members, and the broader P&C team to provide timely and practical advice, contribute to strategic initiatives, and ensure operational excellence. With a diverse and dynamic portfolio, the Advisor supports both day-to-day operations and longer-term projects, including policy development, performance management, engagement programs, and change initiatives. The role is suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, builds trusted relationships, and brings a compassionate, solutions-focused mindset to their work.

 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Provide timely and accurate advice to leaders and team members on P&C policies, procedures, and employment legislation 

  • Develop and enhance policies, practices, and processes aligned with organisational and legislative requirements, with a focus on automation, integration, and effectiveness 

  • Partner with allocated work areas to develop and implement People Plans tailored to their needs, addressing challenges and opportunities across relevant P&C domains 

  • Guide leaders and update procedures regarding team member lifecycle matters 

  • Assist with team member relations matters, including performance management, grievances and disciplinary processes 

  • Contribute to organisational change initiatives by providing P&C expertise and supporting leaders through transitions 

  • Build trusted and authentic relationships with leaders and team members across the organisation 

  • Support delivery of P&C cyclical activities, including Talent Reviews and Engagement 

  • Own People policies and SOPs end to end, including tracking, updates, reviews, publication, and acting as a key contact for queries 

  • Use P&C data and analytics to inform decision-making, identify trends, and support continuous improvement 

  • Provide support and mentorship to the P&C Coordinator and other team members as required 

  • Support the P&C team and leaders with invoicing and other ad hoc requests as required

 

Desired Skills & Experience

To make sure we’re setting new starters up for success, we ask that you meet a few criteria relevant to the role to be considered for this opportunity: 

  • Sound knowledge of Australian employment legislation and P&C best practices 

  • Tertiary qualifications or certifications in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline would be advantageous 

  • Understanding of change management principles 

  • High attention to detail and confidentiality 

  • Understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles and their application in the workplace 

  • Demonstrated experience in a P&C generalist role 

  • Experience handling employee relations cases end to end, or with guidance 

  • Proven ability to provide advice and support across the team member lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and team member relations 

  • Familiarity with working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment 

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to respectfully and constructively challenge leaders 

  • Familiarity with invoice processing and system entry
