What does the job look like?

As an Aviation Screening officer in our newly created division, ARMSEC, you are part of a pivotal role ensuring the safety and security for passengers and staff. This role engages positively with people while monitoring for threats and responding to emergencies. Key areas:

• Complete screening process; ensuring passengers, staff, visitors, and their possessions are safely checked and cleared for entry
• Control access to security sensitive areas by undertaking physical searches, identifying dangerous or hazardous items, and always remaining vigilant
• Screening for any security threats in checked and oversized baggage
• Providing a positive customer engagement experience
• Undertaking emergency response action plan in the event of security threat
• Watch for irregularities and report incidents to the appropriate authority

Focusing on the delivery of high quality, customer focused security services, the successful applicants will demonstrate commitment to providing a safe and memorable travel experience.  This role is based at the Avalon Airport and requires flexibility in working shifts/rotating roster. You can demonstrate:

• Currently hold or willing to obtain a Certificate II in Transport Security Protection
• A security mindset, with a keen focus on compliance and safety
• Problem solving with attention to detail
• Collaboration and team-work skills
• Availability across a 7-day roster across a variety of shifts
