What does the job look like?
The Materials Planning Team Leader will assist in managing the supply level of ITS parts to support operational efficiency. Working closely with the Materials Planning Manager, the Team Leader will support forecasting supply and parts requirements to maintain optimum inventory levels to meet operational targets and customer service levels.
Key areas include:
- Support Manager in forecasting parts requirements for both BAU and project work
- Maintain optimum stock level of parts to meet business requirements
- Schedules parts ordering to ensure efficient inventory
- Creates and maintains an inventory schedule
- Manages slow moving and obsolete stock with key stakeholders
- Liaise with vendors to raise and follow up on purchase orders
- Monitors performance of suppliers to ensure quality standards are being met and DIFOT is being achieved
- Creation of ITS Part Numbers
- Review Nexus Tasks for Materials Planning
- Supplier Invoices using SAP & on-forwarding to our Financial Controller for payment
- Creation of new ITS Part Numbers in Orbit including verification of cost
- Communicate with internal Repair Centre and Technical Support teams and source parts as required

- Strong negotiation skills and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- SAP experience and intermediate expertise in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
