Armsec, the aviation security division of Armaguard Group, is seeking a highly experienced Aviation Operations Manager to lead and manage the passenger and baggage screening operations at Avalon Airport.

This pivotal role is responsible for ensuring compliance with national aviation security regulations and international standards, while delivering operational excellence, security integrity, and outstanding customer service.

What does the job look like?

Lead and manage day-to-day passenger, baggage, and cargo screening operations.

• Ensure full compliance with the Civil Aviation Act, TSA, ICAO Annex 17, and all relevant aviation security regulations.
• Supervise, coach, and support screening staff, team leaders, and supervisors.
• Manage rosters, resource allocation, and operational performance.
• Liaise with airlines, airport authorities, government agencies, and contractors.
• Drive quality assurance programs, audits, and staff training.
• Respond to incidents, breaches, or emergencies with professionalism and authority.
• Monitor KPIs and implement continuous improvements to strengthen security and efficiency.

Are you the one?

We are looking for a decisive, resilient leader with:

• Previous experience in aviation security or screening operations, including experience in management/supervisory roles.
• Certification in aviation security (Cert II in Transport Security Protection).
• Proven ability to manage large operational teams in high-pressure environments.
• Strong knowledge of aviation security technologies (X-ray, body scanners, ETD).
• Expertise in compliance, audits, and regulatory reporting.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Eligibility for an ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card).
