Armaguard is going through a process of transformation as it readies itself for the future of currency requirements. This presents opportunity for fascinating legal work, from ACCC regulation and compliance, transformation and project activity, as well as navigating a brand-new regulatory landscape for the cash distribution framework. We are looking for a solutions-focused Lawyer to join the Legal Team. Reporting to the General Counsel, the successful candidate will take a pivotal role within a legal team that works collaboratively to provide a responsive and effective legal service across the various business units in the Group.
We are looking for a senior candidate who can work independently, guiding the business to achieve the appropriate balance of commercial and legal risk. Experience working within the banking and financial services sector, or a regulated environment would be favourably considered.
Key accountabilities for the role you will be responsible for:
- A broad range of legal work from regulatory compliance, customer contracts, ATM leasing, supplier arrangements and M&A activity
- Negotiating general commercial contracts and ensuring Armaguard’s Group members commercial and legal interests are properly represented
- Providing legal advice and assistance to the Armaguard Group to ensure that deliverables are achieved with minimum risk
- Ensuring Armaguard Group member’s maintain licensing and comply with regulatory requirements
- Direct supervision responsibilities for at least one Corporate Lawyer
The successful candidate will possess the following key attributes:
- Minimum 6 years’ experience practicing as a lawyer either in mid-large firm private practice or equivalent in-house legal experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience in building relationships with internal clients at all levels
- Be flexible, adaptable, commercial and have a team-orientated attitude
- Strong commercial negotiation skills and the ability to influence key stakeholders
- Ability to independently manage competing priorities
- Strong drafting skills, particularly in the area of services agreements
- Experience in the areas of regulatory compliance, technology, financial services or banking
- Knowledge of the regulatory environment would be well regarded
- Project management, analysis and problem-solving skills
- An ability and desire to complete legal work in the most cost-effective manner
