About the role
Permanent full-time opportunity.
This position contributes to the delivery of Council’s strategic plans, development controls and policies; by providing certification relating to subdivision works in our urban release areas and for other types of significant developments across the Penrith Local Government Area, together with providing engineering advice on strategic planning matters, proposals for rezoning and voluntary planning agreements; and ensuring that development and infrastructure works are planned, designed and delivered to meet legislative requirements & Council’s strategic & operational objectives.
Access to a Leaseback Vehicle is available with this position; however, it is not a condition of employment.
Commencing Salary: A competitive salary will be negotiated with the preferred applicant with a package up to $150,219.90 including 3.5% Civil Liabilities Allowance and 11.5% Superannuation.
Essential criteria
- A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Demonstrated experience in the development assessment of building developments from an engineering perspective
- Demonstrated experience in providing engineering advice for Strategic Planning proposals for major land release areas and Voluntary Planning Agreements from an engineering perspective
- Practical experience in all engineering aspects of land development (preferably in Local Government)
- A demonstrated ability to effectively project manage the strategic planning, planning, design and delivery of civil infrastructure in new release areas achieving high quality outcomes from an engineering perspective
- A demonstrated ability to clearly and effectively communicate with Councillors, Council officers, State authorities/ agencies, developers, consultants and the general public
- A current Class C Driver License
