About the role
The Member Engagement Officer is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Member Engagement Desk. This position will be responsible for all transactions conducted during their shift which includes but is not limited to, accurate eftpos procedures, program, venue and membership enquiries and processing the enquiries with our systems, as well as complaints handling. Whether in person, via phone or email you will ensure patrons receive a friendly, focused and fulfilling service.
We currently have the following positions available to join our Member Engagement Team:
- Multiple Temporary Part Time Positions - various hours - Summer seasonal contracts from October 2025 - April 2026, with training commencing in September
- Multiple Casual Positions - various hours - immediate start
Member Engagement shifts are across a variety of hours, ranging from 5am-10pm, including weekend work.

Essential criteria
- Demonstrated administration or customer service experience within a fast-paced work environment
- Current First Aid Certificate
- A valid NSW Working with Children Check
Desirable criteria
- Previous work experience in the leisure /recreation industry or similar
- Excellent interpersonal and commination skills and ability to promote services to members
- Demonstrated high levels of personal organisation and composure under pressure
Commencing salary: $30.00-$34.72 per hour, plus 11.5% Superannuation, plus 25% casual loading & weekend penalties (where applicable)
This position has been identified as a Child-Related position under Child Protection laws in NSW. To be eligible to apply, you are required to provide Council with a valid Working with Children Check Number.
You will be required to undertake employment checks, which may include a Criminal History Check, Qualification Check, Working with Children Check, Medical Declaration and/or a Functional Test, as relevant to the position for which you have applied. Where a Criminal History Check is required and has returned a result that indicates disclosable court outcomes, you will be required to provide a copy of the report to Penrith City Council, for review, in order to progress through the recruitment process.
