Position Overview: |
The Director of Student Affairs Staff Culture and Professional Well-being is an innovative position within the Division of Student Affairs. The Director will lead efforts across the division to enhance staff wellbeing and foster an environment where staff are engaged, healthy and empowered to be their best self. The Director will lead professional and leadership development, on-boarding and training, and staff engagement efforts in support of building a healthy workforce within the division. As a leader in change management and organizational development and learning, the Director will develop a strategic vision for staff development in collaboration with the Executive Leadership Team. This position will be supervised by the Chief of Staff and will have a deep partnership with the Student Affairs Business Services team to support new staff on- and off-boarding efforts. This position will also work closely with the Training and Organizational Development Department in Human Resources to provide tailored leadership development opportunities for staff across the division.

Responsibilities: |
- Provide strategic vision for training, on-boarding, professional development and staff engagement opportunities across the Division of Student Affairs
- Provide support for the Assessment 365 drop ins within the division and provide leadership for the expansion of the Ready to Lead professional development series in the division
- Develop, manage and support all leadership development and professional development programs including the Ready to Lead Series and various other professional development activities .
- Regularly assess staff culture and wellbeing and identify opportunities for continuous improvement within the division.
- Support the division-wide committee for staff engagement and coordinate logistics for social programming across the division including organizing staff retreats, the beginning of the kick-off, holiday celebrations and the end of the year celebration
- Manage and coordinate staff recognition and appreciation, including supporting the division-wide committee for internal staff awards, which coordinates a division wide process to ensure that student affairs staff are nominated for university, USM awards and other awards
- Work with Student Affairs Leadership Team to identify specific departmental training and professional development needs and developed tailored opportunities.
- Work with Director of Planning and Assessment to administer the annual staff evaluation survey and identify opportunities for improvement and development
- Develop a collateral assignment initiative to help promote staff growth and development and to expand opportunities for staff professional learning in units across and outside of Student Affairs.
- Work with Training and Organizational Development Department in Human Resources to identify opportunities for professional coaching for emerging leaders within the division.

Required Minimum Qualifications: |
- Master’s preferably in higher education, student affairs administration, organizational development, leadership or a related field.

Minimum of three years of experience coordinating professional development, wellness or training programs for staff.

The ability to engage effectively with diverse constituents. Demonstrated organizational and program/project management skills.

Ability to work independently and with little guidance.
-
Ability to understand data trends and utilize these trends to inform programming, training and professional development.

Skills with marketing and communications related to programs and events.

Preferred Qualifications: |
Four to seven years of experience coordinating professional development, wellness or training programs for staff.
|

Salary: |
Salary: $89,000 - $95,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations.
The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
