| Responsibilities: |
The University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) is seeking a full‑time, temporary IRB Compliance Assistant (General Assistant) to support the daily operations of the Institutional Review Board.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in research compliance, regulatory administration as well as gaining experience in a university research environment.
This is a full-time Contingent I/temporary position with an initial contract for six months with the possibility of renewal.
This position plays a key role in maintaining IRB committee operations and meeting schedules. This position also reviews submitted research protocols for completeness and compliance with federal and institutional requirements while ensuring informed consent documents contain all required elements. The role works closely with investigators to address submission issues, clarify requirements, and communicate IRB decisions to the PI.
This position maintains committee operations and meeting schedules. Review submitted protocols for completeness and compliance of federal and institutional guidelines. Review Informed Consent documents for content completeness and federally mandated elements. Work with investigators to ensure completeness of protocols and write correspondence to investigators to communicate decisions of the IRB.

| Required Minimum Qualifications: |
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
or
One year experience in a university compliance or research administration setting.

| Preferred Qualifications: |
Experience with electronic research administration software and protocol submission systems/Kuali Protocols preferred.
