| Position Overview: |
As a member of the FM Sign shop, the Signage Technician II will create a variety of signs for campus, including event signs, banners, ADA and wayfinding signage.

| Responsibilities: |
- Design and fabricate a variety of signage, via Gerber Scientific, Inc., Omega Signmaking Software and Adobe creative cloud software
- Design and produce signs and graphics for 4-color process printing via Gerber Edge II Thermal printer
- Fabricate or assemble cut vinyl after weeding and masking production for final application onto substrate
- Manage, survey, photograph, measure, assess targeted install locations for special independently managed projects
- Partner on projects with Planning, Design & Construction Services, Facilities Management Operations & Maintenance, Creative Services, Environmental Safety & Health. Review and reference construction (architectural) drawings
- Use a variety of tools to complete tasks, keep inventory of supplies and materials, purchase stock items as designated

| Required Minimum Qualifications: |
HS Diploma or GED; Valid MD non-commercial class C driver’s license. Four years related experience in graphic design, layout, CAD or signage technician tasks.
Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.

| Salary: |
Pay Range 10 (minimum: $25.48/hr - maximum: $30.57) based on the University System of Maryland (USM) Pay Program.
Facilities Management provides free uniforms and shoes for skilled trades positions. Tools are provided for use on the job as well as a UMBC owned vehicle to travel to worksites on campus. UMBC also assists with keeping trades licenses current and obtaining needed training. Opportunities for shift differential, on-call, and overtime pay may be available.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, Memorandum of Understanding, USM Board of Regent policies, internal equity, budget and qualifications and experience. Most salary offers will be close to the minimum part of the range.
The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
