Retriever Integrated Health (RIH) brings together UMBC’s Health Services and Counseling Center in a collaborative, integrated approach to support student well-being and academic success. Our interdisciplinary team includes compassionate administrative staff and skilled professionals from a wide range of fields—medicine, nursing, psychiatry, psychology, counseling, social work, health education, dietetics, acupuncture, and massage therapy. | Responsibilities: |
- Serve as the first point of contact for individuals visiting or contacting Retriever Integrated Health by phone, email, or in person.
- Perform front desk reception duties, including scheduling and maintaining appointments for mental health services, medical consultations, and health promotion workshops.
- Coordinate timely communication among students, healthcare providers, and staff; respond to routine inquiries and direct individuals to appropriate services.
- Assist students seeking information or support related to mental health, medical care, and health promotion resources.
- Update patient demographic and health insurance information for UMBC students, faculty, and staff.
- Review, document, and verify required health immunization records using the Point and Click electronic health record system.
- Add and remove student compliance holds based on immunization record verification and established procedures.
- Verify student insurance information using PeopleSoft and electronic medical record software.
- Support clinical staff by scanning, faxing, and maintaining patient health documentation.
- Maintain compliance with university policies, confidentiality requirements, ethical standards, and relevant laws governing protected health information.
- Open and date stamp nonconfidential mail for Retriever Integrated Health and individual employees.
- Receive and dispense pharmacy deliveries in accordance with approved procedures.
- Coordinate with front desk staff to transport departmental deposits to the campus cashier’s office for processing.
- Maintain front desk office equipment, including copier and fax machines, and coordinate routine troubleshooting or service needs.
- Monitor office supplies, maintain inventory records, and support timely replenishment of materials.

| Required Minimum Qualifications: |
- High School Diploma or GED
- Two years of clerical experience in a medical office setting
|
| Preferred Qualifications: |
- Ability to perform administrative and office support functions independently within established guidelines.
- Strong customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize competing needs, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated discretion when handling confidential and sensitive health information.
- Proficiency with standard office equipment and computer based administrative systems.
- Ability to learn and use electronic health record, insurance verification, and university information systems.

| Salary: |
Hourly Salary Range: Minimum: $19.00 to Maximum: $23.00, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
