| Position Overview: |
The Assistant Director of Development & Revenue Generation will support UMBC Athletics' efforts to grow revenue, increase attendance, strengthen fan engagement, and expand relationships with alumni, community organizations, and other key constituents.
Reporting to the Associate Athletics Director for Development & Revenue Generation, this position will focus heavily on proactive revenue generation, including donor and alumni engagement support, ticket sales, group sales, lead generation, customer relationship management, and the development and execution of revenue-producing engagement initiatives. The position will work collaboratively with Ticketing, Marketing, Institutional Advancement, Corporate Partnerships, Communications, and sport programs to identify new revenue opportunities and enhance the student-athlete experience.

| Responsibilities: |
Development & Alumni Engagement
- Support donor engagement and stewardship efforts, including assisting with Retriever Club communications, event coordination, and tracking donor/prospect activity alongside ticket and sales data.
- Support the creation and execution of revenue-generating events involving alumni, donors, season-ticket holders, and community partners.
- Represent UMBC Athletics at home contests, community events, alumni events, and other department activities as assigned.
- Serve as Assistant Director of the Retriever Club and a member of the Major Gifts team, coordinating portfolio assignments and reporting in conjunction with the Associate AD.
- Implement a comprehensive engagement strategy for former student-athletes, donors, and other constituents to grow Retriever Club membership and major gifts.
- Support planning and execution of Annual Fund-level gifts, including donor solicitation efforts, renewal and upgrade strategies, and tracking progress toward fundraising goals.
Ticket Sales, Sponsorships & Operations
- Assist in driving outbound ticket sales efforts with an emphasis on season tickets, group sales, single-game opportunities, and special ticket packages.
- Identify and develop new sales leads among youth sports organizations, schools, businesses, alumni groups, community organizations, and other prospective customers.
- Build and manage a consistent sales pipeline, including prospecting, outreach, follow-up, conversion, and renewal activity.
- Assist in developing and executing group experiences, theme games, ticket promotions, and other initiatives designed to increase attendance and revenue.
- Work closely with the ticket office to ensure a seamless customer experience from initial outreach through purchase and event attendance.
Data, Reporting & Cross-Functional Support
- Maintain accurate customer and prospect information within Athletics' CRM/ticketing systems and establish consistent tracking of sales activity and follow-up.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Communications on ticket sales campaigns, promotional calendars, customer communications, and digital outreach.
- Analyze ticket sales, attendance, customer behavior, campaign performance, and other revenue metrics to identify trends and opportunities.
- Develop regular reports and dashboards tracking key performance indicators, including outbound activity, leads generated, conversion rates, group sales, ticket revenue, and campaign performance.
- Assist the Associate AD with special projects related to revenue generation, development, corporate partnerships, and fan engagement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

| Required Minimum Qualifications: |
- Bachelor's degree.
- One year of experience in ticket sales, sports business, marketing, fundraising, customer service, business development, or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop relationships and provide high-level customer service.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends as necessitated by the intercollegiate athletics schedule.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace.

| Preferred Qualifications: |
- Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Previous experience in collegiate or professional athletics.
- Three years of experience with ticketing platforms, CRM systems, outbound sales, or fundraising databases.
- Experience developing group sales or community engagement programs.
- Demonstrated success meeting measurable sales, revenue, or engagement goals.
- Experience analyzing sales/customer data and developing performance reports.

| Salary: |
Salary: $67,000 to $75,500 depending on qualifications and experience.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations.
The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
