Job Summary: The Mail Operations Supervisor will oversee and administer the daily operations of the Mailroom and staff. Provide support to programs, administration and strategies that enhance and improve the day to day operations of mailing operation. The individual in this role with manage the Mailroom resources and coordinate the customer and vendor information services.
Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must have permanent appointment in an Stores & Mail Operations Supervisor New York State classified position (or be eligible for a 70.1 transfer) or be reachable for appointment on the current NYS Civil Service eligible list for Stores & Mail Operations Supervisor, Full Time - Brockport location.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
  • Knowledge of United States Postal Service mailing regulations and rates.
  • Knowledge of general office procedures and practices that pertain to a high volume, automated mail center
    operation.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of supervision, performance evaluation, coaching, and training.
  • Knowledge of computer applications including spreadsheets, data bases, scheduling, word processing and office
    systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range
    of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Ability to operate and maintain electronic metering equipment.
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, methods, and techniques in the mailing industry.
  • Ability to process benchmarking and computer data and to format and generate reports.
  • Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgements.
  • Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work
Work Schedule: 37.5 Hours a Week; Monday -Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm
Salary and Benefits: $50,425
