The Center for Simulation in the Dwyer School of Nursing at Widener University invites applications for the position of Adjunct Simulation Facilitator. This role is responsible for providing clinical instruction in a safe, practice environment within the simulation laboratories for all levels of nursing students.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to) :
Essential duties:
Assist Simulation Director and Faculty with scenario development.
Collaborate with Lab assistant to ensure simulation labs are properly prepared for learning.
Set – up and properly maintain equipment.
Implement, execute, and debrief simulation scenarios.
Perform student, peer, and simulation evaluations.
Participate in large scale simulation events within the Widener campus.
Attend scheduled simulation meetings.
Complete mandatory online educational activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (education/training and experience required) :
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in nursing is acceptable if currently enrolled in a Master’s program. Completion of the Master’s degree is required within 5 years of hire.
Licensure as a registered nurse in PA.
Completion of criminal background checks, child abuse checks, and clinical requirements prior to starting.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a clinical area.
At least 1 year of health-related lab or simulation experience.
Preferred:
Simulation certification (CHSE)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND/OR UNUSUAL HOURS:
Must be able to maintain manual dexterity, gross and fine movements including but not limited to:
Sufficiently, safely move from room to room, and move quickly.
Sit/stand and maintain balance, walk, climb, bend, twist, stop and squat.
Push, pull, lift, and support at least 25 lbs. in order to position, transfer, and ambulate simulated patients/clients/mannequins.
Move light objects up to 10 lbs. and move heavy objects weighing from 10-50 lbs.
Pick up objects with hands, grasp small objects and pinch/pick up with fingers and twist/turn with hands.
