The Department of Art and Music is seeking a part-time instructor to teach two sections of a Western music survey during the Fall 2025 semester.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):

Essential duties:

  • Teach two introductory-level Western music surveys—Medieval to the present
  • Adjunct Music faculty at Widener enjoy a great deal of autonomy. They design their own syllabi and are free to implement their preferred pedagogy and techniques of their choosing within prevailing norms and best practices in the discipline.
  • Holding 4 office hours per week

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (education/training and experience required):

Required:

  • MA in Music History or related field
  • Experience teaching music history at the undergraduate level.
  • Available to teach on a Tuesday/Thursday schedule from 8:00-10:45am.
