You will be a part of a research project that is examining the ways in which Indigenous language/culture teachers collaborate with primarily non-Indigenous classroom teachers to develop a tribally specific, land-based curriculum for children birth-to-age-five (b-5).  You will also support the development of land and water based learning materials for an intergenerational Indigenous STEAM project.

 JOB DUTIES

•  Supporting data management (collection, organization, transcript request, filing, etc.)
•  Data analysis (coding, reporting, dissemination preparation)
•  Project organization such as curriculum documentation, meeting preparation, evaluation
•  Other duties as they arise

This is a 15-18  hour per week project position. The period of employment is December 2020 to no later than November 30, 2022 when the grant funding this position ends.

• - At least 90 completed toward bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or Indigenous Studies.
  - Experience or demonstrated interest in Indigenous education
  - Strong organizational skills
  - Ability to maintain confidentiality
  - Ability to complete a variety of complex tasks independently, including data collection, organization, and initial analysis
  - Cultural consciousness for collaborating with a tribal nation
  - Demonstrated knowledge of local place as an aspect of curricular design

• Completed CITI training in human subjects protections (or must complete this in the first 2 weeks of being hired)
• Previous experience in early childhood education and/or Indigenous education
• Previous experience or proficiency with an Indigenous language, preferably Lushootseed
