GEO administers the Global Studies minor, which is designed for students seeking an international focus that transcends disciplinary and geographic boundaries. The Office provides students with a General University Requirement intended to prepare students for global experiences and citizenship; a choice of elective courses which can help satisfy the student’s curiosity about any of the multitude of global issues that the University curriculum embraces; an opportunity to acquire global perspectives, cross-cultural competencies, knowledge of international systems, study abroad experiences, and the study of a world language.

About the Position OFFICE OF GLOBAL ENGAGEMENT (GEO). The Office maintains a vacancy pool of qualified persons interested in temporary teaching positions to teach the Introduction to Global Studies and other courses in the Global Studies minor. In anticipation of possible openings throughout the academic year, applications are accepted continuously for temporary non-tenure-track teaching positions on a part-time basis. Positions may become available at any time. 
Required Qualifications
  • Master’s in International/Global Studies or related field in Social Sciences, Humanities, or Sciences
  • College or university teaching experience, including the teaching of writing
  • Demonstrated ability to teach an interdisciplinary curriculum
  • Experience with teaching methods which promote active, participatory learning
  • Experience working successfully with a diverse student body and staff
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in a Social Science, Humanities or Science discipline with a global/international concentration
  • Relevant teaching experience at the university level

Salary

$1,287 - $1,608 per Credit, Commensurate with experience and qualifications
