About the Position The assistant Men's Basketball Coach is responsible for assisting in coaching student athletes at the team practices, games, and other events. The assistant men's basketball coach will assist and or run the summer basketball camps throughout the year -all aspects. They must be self motivated and team oriented, ability to multitask and work well as part of a team.

The assistant Men's Basketball coach must have experience in Microsoft office, Adobe, and basketball specific video analysis software (synergy) must be willing to travel and work evenings and weekends.

The Assistant men's basketball coach will have recruiting duties as follows.

Local recruiting-responsible for recruiting in the pacific northwest, primarily Washington State. know all the local high school teams and club teams.

Out of state recruiting and potential international recruiting-responsible for identifying potential out of state and international recruits, developing relationships with recruiting services and understanding requirements for NCAA eligibility and WWU admittance for the all types of student athletes (regional, out of state, international)

The Assistant Men's basketball coach will assist in planning, coordination and execution of all approved alumni and fundraising activities.

The Assistant Men's basketball Coach will have and maintain good working relationships with the following:

* Compliance administrator, assist in monitoring the academic performance of student athletes

* Equipment Manager, assisting with the gear order, monitoring the condition of the equipment and replacement and repairs of equipment if necessary

* Director of communications: regarding media relations, public relations, promotion, and social media as it pertains to the Men's Basketball Team

The Assistant Men's basketball Coach needs to be up to date with all forms of NCAA compliance and may have other duties as assigned by the Head coach or his designee.

Required Qualifications *Bachelor's Degree completed by start date (September 2024)

*Experience coaching college, professional, or elite Basketball

*Ability to effectively coach student athletes of diverse backgrounds and identities

*First Aid and CPR Certification or commitment to obtaining certification within 3 months of employment

Preferred Qualifications *Commitment to Holistic Development of student athletes

*Familiarity with Northwest basketball High Schools, Clubs, Junior Colleges

*Experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe, Google, basketball specific and video analysis software and products (synergy)

*Excellent professional and interpersonal communication skills

*2 years college coaching experience at the D1, D2, D3, Junior college levels

Additional Information

Successful applicants are responsible for ensuring their eligibility to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the United States, a lawful permanent resident, a foreign national authorized to work in the United States without need of employer sponsorship) on or before the effective date of appointment. Also must pass annual recruiting exam/ coaching certification required by the NCAA.

Salary  Hiring range for position is $56,468 - $64,939/year.  Through longevity position tops out at $73,409/year.
