The role

We are currently seeking a seasoned leader in diversity and inclusion to help the department build upon existing programs and enhance the departments delivery of inclusion and belonging strategic initiatives.  

As the Manager of Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging, you’ll guide a team as a SME in the delivery, implementation and evaluation of innovative diversity, inclusion and belonging programs, initiatives and strategies. Your role involves shaping and promoting an inclusive environment within the Department, ensuring compliance with legislative and policy requirements that come together to ensure the diversity of the department reflect the diversity of the community it serves. You’ll design and oversee events and initiatives that reflect our values and foster a positive organisational culture.

You will be instrumental in promoting diversity and inclusion strategies and plans to influence key stakeholders in the execution of the Departments commitment. You will also use human design principles when it comes to creating programs and communications campaigns.

What you will bring to the role

We are looking for an experienced diversity and inclusion specialist who understands from their own lived experience the impact this role can make.  You will be passionate about creating and sustaining a diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace.

You will have experience in the development of leading organisation wide strategies and contributing to industry or sector wide programs, including formal reporting of action plans.

It is essential that you have strong leadership skills which enables you to inspire direction and purpose within your team but also assists in developing strong collaborative working relationships across the Department.

You will also possess strong communication skills and be capable of speaking up and standing up against bias and discrimination.

You like to review data to make good informative decisions based on facts and evidence which has demonstrated how you have delivered results and impact.

An understanding of NSW Sector legislative requirements would also be an advantage.

What is an essential requirement:

  • Significant experience and/or qualifications related to human resources, diversity and inclusion or related disciplines.
