About the role
National Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunity for Senior Project Officer role to work as part of the team and contribute towards the delivery of key operational and visitor infrastructure whilst conserving of the natural environment, flora, fauna and Aboriginal heritage.
The Senior project Officer will manage Project Officers and responsible for planning, approvals, stakeholder engagement, procurement, contract supervision and delivering the on-ground works within required deadlines, to quality standards. You will be responsible for budget, project monitoring and evaluation. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a high performing team to support the achievement of organisational objectives.
About You
Your passion for your community and environment, coupled with a strong attention to detail and proficiency in project management will be key to your success in this role. You'll be adept in providing high level specialist advice and information to stakeholders on emerging project issues and to support project development and delivery in line with established plans, budgets, timeframes, policy and environmental objectives and other project and priorities.
You will have the ability to lead the team on procurement and contract management, including supervision of remote works projects which may require regular travel throughout the region.
Essential Requirements –
- Project management skills and experience with an understanding of contemporary best practice in procurement, tendering and contract preparation, in managing project teams, consultants and contractors, and in applying environmental safety and risk management policies and systems.
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent, relevant professional experience
