About the role
The Healthy Country Team has a unique opportunity for an Assistant Project Officer to work as part of the team and contribute towards the development and implementation of the Cultural Fire and Aboriginal Ranger strategies and related on Country projects. This is a terrific opportunity to take the next step in your career and contribute to the implementation of key strategic priorities of Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) to deliver work to protect the state’s biodiversity and heritage values.
The Assistant Project Officer role supports a range of projects, research, analysis, reporting, implementation and administrative duties in line with established project plans and objectives.
About You
To be successful in this role, you must be:
- willing and able to assist with community work which involves travel. The role may be required to undertake work in remote locations. This will require a willingness and ability to travel across NSW.
- A keen interest in cultural fire management and Aboriginal Ranger projects and outcomes.
The role will provide project and operational support, assist in planning and delivering defined projects and provide a range of secretariat and administrative services.
Essential requirements:
A valid Australian Drivers License as the role requires travel.
