  • 2 x Apprenticeship opportunities (4-year duration), commencing Feb 2025
  • Apprentice Machinist & Apprentice Toolmaker
  • Bradfield City, First Building - Advanced Manufacturing Research Facility. (Location will initially be in Penrith before transferring to Bradfield)
  • 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday with one day being a study day with TAFE or similar
  • Starting from $503.80/week + super (1st year) to $979.10 (4th year)

 

The Bradfield Development Authority (BDA) is launching Australia’s first industry-scale Advanced Manufacturing Readiness Facility (AMRF) designed to support industry in applying advanced manufacturing technologies across a diverse range of new and exciting projects.  We are seeking passionate apprentices for a once-in-a-generation opportunity to develop new solutions at the cutting-edge of manufacturing - all in a brand-new facility, with the latest equipment and a leading team of technical experts.

We are seeking enthusiastic individuals who would like to undertake an apprenticeship in Cert III Engineering - Mechanical & Cert III Engineering-Toolmaking, where you will gain on the job experience from an industry leader whilst obtaining a nationally recognised qualification.

An apprenticeship with the AMRF is a 4-year commitment working alongside highly skilled machinists and toolmakers coaching you in mastering these trades. In addition, you will be mentored by professional engineers experienced across a range of disciplines helping you to shape your engineering knowledge and mapping out a career pathway.

The Apprentice toolmaker performs trade apprentice duties associated with the development, manufacture and testing of fixtures, jigs, tooling components and metrology for AMRF projects. The role will work under the general supervision of the Lead Engineer – Precision Machining and Senior Machinist. The Apprentice is required to attend TAFE training one day a week as part of the standard working week. The role will be based on-site at the AMRF for other workdays.

The Apprentice machinist performs trade apprentice duties associated with tool path development, machine programming, tool setup, machining, and metrology for AMRF projects. The role will work under the general supervision of the Lead Engineer – Precision Machining and Senior Machinist. The Apprentice is required to attend TAFE training one day a week as part of the standard working week. The role will be based on-site at the AMRF for other workdays.
