  • Salary : $ 74,529 plus super and weekend shift penalty rates

Sydney Olympic Park Authority (SOPA) is looking for skilled and experienced Pool Operations Supervisors to lead and oversee the safe and efficient operation of our premier aquatic facilities. This key role is integral to maintaining high standards of service delivery, venue presentation, and safety, ensuring that every visitor has a memorable and secure experience at Sydney Olympic Park. 

As the Pool Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing a dedicated team of lifeguards, implementing streamlined operational procedures, and ensuring that all operational requirements of the venue are met. 

 Your role will include overseeing the safe use of the facilities, quickly identifying and addressing any potential risks, and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective scheduling and resource allocation. You will also provide leadership in maintaining compliance with the Centre’s Emergency Management Plan and lead the development of your team.

What you will bring to the role  

  • Effective planning and coordination skills for managing events across various aquatic disciplines while maintaining leisure facility operations. 
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to identify and provide timely solutions for operational incidents or issues. 
  • Excellent risk and safety management skills to ensure the safety of patrons, clients, and tenants. 
  • Ability to supervise and develop a team, providing clear performance standards and constructive feedback. 
  • Strong communication skills to engage with internal and external stakeholders effectively. 
  • Proficiency in using technology to maximize efficiencies and effectiveness in operations. 
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality customer-focused services and continuous improvement. 

Essential requirement 

  • Experience in swimming pool supervision and pool operations
  • Aquatic Technical Operator certificate (SISSS00131) or equivalent (must be willing to obtain within 6 months of employment) 
  • Current - Pool Lifeguard qualifications recognised in NSW (SISSS00133)
  • Provide First Aid (HLTAID 011) 
  • Provide CPR (HLTAID009) 
  • A Working with Children Check (WWCC) is an essential requirement for this role 
  • Willing and able to work shift work on a 7-day roster
