The role 

The Senior Procurement Officer works closely with stakeholders to plan, source, and manage procurement arrangements that deliver value for money while aligning with business objectives. The role involves analysing business needs, navigating market dynamics, and building supplier relationships to ensure effective procurement outcomes. Supporting the organisation, the Senior Procurement Officer brings expert expertise and advice and enhances processes across our internal teams. 

A key challenge of this role includes driving change in business practices to better manage demand and adapting to the complexity of procurement policies and evolving markets. Success relies on staying ahead of legislation, mitigating risks, and documenting decisions to maintain compliance and transparency.

What you will bring to the role 

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey ideas and collaborate with team members. 

  • Strong problem-solving abilities to navigate complex challenges and adapt to evolving situations. 

  • Capable of driving outcomes while effectively involving stakeholders throughout the process, fostering collaboration and buy-in. 

  • Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills, fostering strong relationships and ensuring alignment with diverse stakeholders to achieve outcomes. 

  • Solid time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines efficiently. 

  • Expertise in procurement practices and legislation, enabling sound decision-making in complex and dynamic environments. 

  • Ability to proactively identify and mitigate risks, ensuring compliance and maximizing business opportunities 

 

Key knowledge and experience 

  • Extensive experience and expertise in end-to-end procurement processes, including governance, strategy development, and risk management
