  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $125,693 base to $138,510 top + super

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Advisor focused on major projects to join our team in this newly created position. Our Business Advisory team within the Finance Division of Corporate Enabling Services (CES) acts as the finance business partner to executive and senior management in the Water Group and associated agencies.

 

About the Role

The Senior Business Advisor delivers top-tier business and financial advice, covering budgeting, forecasting, labour analytics, capital planning, and risk management. They also ensure accurate accounting and consistent reporting for the Water Group's divisions.

You will create and deliver monthly financial reports and dashboards with senior executives to guide decisions and address budget variances. You will also:

  • Offer expert financial advice on complex projects, develop budgets and forecasts, , lead the asset creation process for specific projects
  • Analyse financial performance, manage cash flow, and monitor business metrics to aid management decisions.
  • Coordinate funding and prepare business cases for strategic initiatives.

 

About You

To excel in this role, you'll need:

  • Financial Reporting Skills: Experience in developing and preparing monthly financial reports and dashboards with senior executives.
  • Advisory Expertise: Ability to provide timely, expert financial and accounting advice, and develop budgets and forecasts.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in analysing financial performance, managing cash flow, and monitoring business metrics.
  • Coordination Abilities: Experience in working with major projects and coordinating forecasts for multiple contracts and project managers
  • Stakeholder Management: Strong skills in building confidence and support among stakeholders, clients, and peers.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to research and resolve complex issues, offering innovative solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Experience in preparing detailed briefing notes, reports, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work with other stakeholders and teams to deliver finance-related initiatives.

 

Essential Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in accounting / business or extensive demonstrated experience.
