As the Team Lead for Library and Information Services, you'll be at the forefront of managing digitally organised information and resources to support evidence-based research and policy across the agency. Your role involves leading a team to deliver integrated, client-focused library services that enhance statewide access to research and information, empowering users and supporting community learning.
This role will lead the transition to a self-service library model, manage complex procurement processes, and deliver consistent, innovative services across a geographically dispersed environment. This includes managing staff located in multiple regions, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and service delivery regardless of location. You’ll also champion the adoption of new technologies, ensuring information integrity, and driving strategic projects to improve information preservation and accessibility.
What you will bring to the role
- Experience in managing the selection, acquisition and description of complex digital information resources, in a library or archival environment.
- Experience in negotiating, implementing and managing high value and complex contracts for multiple digital information platforms
- Experience in complex procurement processes and budget management
- Experience in managing a dispersed team that delivers complex services across multiple sites.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey ideas and collaborate with team members.
- Proven ability to lead and support staff working across different geographic locations, ensuring team cohesion, effective communication, and consistent service delivery
- Capable of driving outcomes while effectively involving team members and stakeholders throughout the process, fostering collaboration and buy-in
- Enjoys autonomy and demonstrates proficiency in working independently, taking initiative, and making decisions.
What is an essential requirement:

Qualifications acceptable for professional membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA), Australian Society of Archivists (ASA) or other combination of qualifications and/or experience deemed by the State Librarian to be equivalent that meets the minimum standard of skill and knowledge inherent in the ALIA standard.
