At the heart of the New South Wales (NSW) planning system, the Planning Group takes centre stage. Driven by the NSW Government’s unwavering commitment to tackle the critical housing issue, we provide essential support and strategic guidance. The Planning Land Use Strategy, Housing and Infrastructure (PLUSHI) team are the driving force behind the Department's strategic planning, policy, rezoning, and infrastructure projects, all aimed at making New South Wales a better place to live.
The role
The Planning Officer State Rezoning assists with the implementation of specific planning projects with a focus on planning delivery and collaboration including with local councils and other key stakeholders in line with relevant Government and Department policies and objectives.
Key knowledge and experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of relevant planning and environmental legislation and processes
Essential requirements
- Tertiary degree qualification or other equivalent qualification
- Willingness to travel and Class C Driver’s Licence for regional positions
About you
You will undertake planning tasks and allocated projects relating to housing initiatives and contribute to other planning programs, projects and activities, conduct research and analysis, including the collation and management of data and information to identify issues and suggest a range of options and solutions to achieve planning program commitments.
Respond to internal and external stakeholder enquiries and provide information and advice on current planning matters to enhance quality service delivery and consistent understanding and application of policies and practices and prepare reports, submissions, briefing notes, letters and other correspondence to support decision making and to respond to stakeholder requests.
