We’re looking for a talented Strategic Operations Manager to join our Digital and Customer Division at Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure. This is a high-impact role that offers the opportunity to partner directly with the Executive Director to deliver on key divisional priorities and drive initiatives that enhance the effectiveness and performance of our operations.

 

You’ll provide high-level strategic advice, lead business planning and project oversight, and influence decision-making at the executive level. From policy development to complex problem-solving, your insights will help guide the direction of one of the most innovative and fast-paced divisions in the department. This is your chance to make a real contribution to the liveability and prosperity of NSW—by ensuring our internal operations are as effective and future-focused as the communities we serve

What you will bring to the role

  • Proven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships across a complex organisation.
  • Strong analytical skills to resolve issues and balance multiple priorities.
  • Experience in managing project timelines and deliverables efficiently.
  • Ability to provide high-level strategic advice and guidance to leadership.
  • Expertise in developing and implementing business plans and policies.
  • Strong communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders and present complex information clearly.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

 

What is an essential requirement:

  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in social sciences, human resources, information technology and business administration.
