The role
The State Rezoning team currently has exciting opportunities for passionate planners ready to turn big ideas into real outcomes. As a Senior Planning in the team, you’ll play a key role in analysing complex rezoning and planning proposals, providing strategic advice, and crafting clear, high-quality reports that support the delivery of projects aligned with the state’s infrastructure, growth, and sustainability goals.
This role is all about balance—managing priorities in a fast-paced environment, navigating diverse stakeholder needs, and translating technical planning into plain English that drives action and results.

What you will bring to the role
- Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and persuasive documents—including briefing notes, reports, and correspondence
- Strong problem-solving abilities to navigate complex challenges and adapt to evolving situations.
- Solid time management and organisational skills to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
- Strong presentation skills and the ability to articulate and present solutions, ideas and recommendations.
- Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills, fostering strong relationships and ensuring alignment with diverse stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
What is an essential requirement:
- Degree in urban and regional planning or other relevant discipline
