The Executive Officer – Australian Convict Sites provides operational, project management, communications and administration support to the Australian Convict Sites Steering Committee (ACSSC) who are responsible for collaborative management of the Australian Convicts Sites World Heritage Property.

Heritage NSW is seeking expressions of interest to the Executive Officer role for 4-6 weeks. The current Executive Officer is expected to take at least two weeks leave during this period, but the role will be dual occupancy for three to four weeks, allowing the two Executive Officers to collaborate and work concurrently to deliver priority projects before the end of the financial year.

The role’s focus will be on implementing outputs identified in the new Australian Convict Sites Communications and Engagement Plan. This Plan aims to simplify how the Australian Convict Sites World Heritage Property is communicated to non-heritage audiences through preparation of a social media strategy and calendar, as well as ‘fast fact’ summary sheets emphasising the themes each component site contributes to the World Heritage Property. Applicants with an understanding of cultural heritage and some experience delivering communications and social media projects are preferred.

Key Knowledge & Experience

  • Experience in the provision of administration and business support services.
  • Knowledge of and proven ability to interpret and apply government protocols and administration policies, processes and procedures.
