- Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $130,506 to $143,921 + super
Our Greater Sydney Regional Delivery team is seeking a suitably experienced professional to join their Compliance and Regulation Team as Senior Operations Leader. The position is pivotal in the protection of the natural capital of the State including native vegetation, protected flora and fauna, Aboriginal objects and places.
About You
As Senior Operations Leader, you will lead the implementation of a robust and credible compliance, audit and regulation program within the region that will ensure the delivery of best practice regulation and outcomes that are consistent with policy and statutory requirements.
You will be required undertake a range of compliance-related activities including desktop assessments, reviewing agreements, engaging stakeholders, issuing statutory notices, conducting interviews and gathering evidence with a view to determining responses that are timely, fair, proportionate and consistent with statutory requirements. As a people leader of the team, it is expected that you will consistently demonstrate the values and behaviours that contribute to a constructive, high-performance culture.
The Senior Operations leader:
- Provides specialist knowledge and experience to operational activities of the team undertaking environmental regulation
- Participates in the review, development, delivery, evaluation and reporting of operational programs
- Coaches and mentors operational team members to meet performance expectations in line with organisational objectives
- Assist the team in managing work health and safety to protect workers and other persons against harm to their health, safety and welfare through the elimination or minimisation of risks arising from work
Essential Requirements
- Hold ISO 19011 auditor certification or similar or have capacity to obtain such certification within 3 months of commencement in this role.
- As this role carries a high degree of decision making and requires a significant level of integrity when conducting regulatory and compliance activities a Criminal History Check is a requirement of this role.
- Current Class C Driver’s Licence.
- Knowledge of environmental issues, statutory processes and work in the government sector will be highly regarded
