The Director, Sustainability leads, develops and delivers a cohesive strategy for the Bradfield Development Authority (BDA) that drives world-class sustainability outcomes with an immediate focus on the master-planning, servicing, early buildings, public open space and activation of the new Bradfield City Centre.
The role operates as the BDA’s leading expert in environment and sustainability, informing decision making in relation to our work at the city, precinct, building and tenancy level. This includes assisting the BDA in its work to transition to a circular and net zero economy.
It optimises opportunities to undertake real world, onsite and practical sustainability and resilience related research (akin to a ‘living lab’), on the site of the Bradfield City Centre in partnership with leading institutions for the benefit of the whole BDA.
About You
You are a visionary leader with a deep commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. With extensive experience in developing and implementing sustainability strategies you bring a wealth of knowledge. Your background in environment, sustainability, geography, science, or planning, coupled with your ability to influence and negotiate with a wide range of stakeholders, positions you as a key driver of innovative and sustainable outcomes. You thrive in dynamic and complex environments, leveraging your expertise to deliver world-class sustainability and economic results for large-scale projects.
As a strategic thinker and effective communicator, you excel in building collaborative relationships across government, industry, and academia. Your proven track record in managing teams, fostering partnerships, and navigating politically sensitive issues ensures that you can lead the BDA’s sustainability initiatives with confidence and integrity. You are passionate about creating vibrant, productive spaces and are dedicated to advancing the vision of a green and connected BDA. Your ability to critically analyse complex issues and develop practical solutions makes you an invaluable asset to the team.

The Bradfield Development Authority (BDA) is building a stronger future for Western Sydney by delivering Bradfield City Centre and attracting investment to the Western Sydney Aerotropolis. We work with all levels of government, industry, and the community to realise the once-in-a-generation opportunities the new 24/7 Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport and the surrounding Western Sydney Aerotropolis precinct.
The Authority is leading the development of one of the country’s most ambitious and exciting projects – Bradfield City Centre, located in the heart of the Aerotropolis.
