The role

As Sustainability Engineer, you’ll support the design, delivery, and review of sustainability projects and programs aligned with the Net Zero Government Operations Policy (NZGO) and other environmental frameworks. From driving emissions reductions and asset efficiency to implementing smart monitoring technologies and certifying performance through NABERS and GreenStar, your work will be integral to meeting DPHI’s environmental goals.

You’ll also support stakeholder engagement, manage data and reporting, and provide expert advice to enable sustainability leadership across NSW Government property portfolios.

What you will bring to the role

• Demonstrated experience delivering sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives in the built environment.

• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and foster collaboration.

• A practical, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to juggle competing priorities in a fast-paced policy and project environment.

 

What is an essential requirement:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Design, Sustainability or other relevant discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience, including 3 years in a similar role.
  • Qualified NABERS Energy and Water for Offices Assessor, with knowledge of NABERS Waste, IE, and Energy Performance Indicators.
  • Knowledge of GreenStar Buildings and Fit-outs.
  • A current and valid Australian full driver’s licence (NSW travel required).
