- Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $110,266 - $122,058 + super
Eligibility: This role is open to expressions of interest from all ongoing, temporary and casual NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water employees.
About the Role
National Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunity for a Project Officer to contribute to the delivery of the Kosciuszko National Park Wild Horse Heritage Management Plan. As Project Officer, you will provide project support services to ensure the safe and effective management of wild horses in the park. Animal welfare and staff safety are a project priority.
You will assist in the management and delivery of contentious and environmentally sensitive issues, seeking acceptance for programs which have a high community profile. The position requires flexibility to support various business functions as operational needs dictate.
About You
To be successful in the role, you will have:
- Extensive experience in the delivery of innovative, best practice feral animal management, ecological management or related conservation programs.
- Detailed understanding of government processes, policy and procedures, including their application to ecological management and conservation.
- Experience working closely with field based feral animal control teams to ensure safe and effective control with high animal welfare standards.
- Skills in compiling and maintaining feral animal control procedural documents and maintaining timely and accurate feral animal control records.
- Strong communication skills, with an ability to engage a wide audience on contentious issues.
- Proven ability to adapt priorities quickly in response to changing organisational needs and emerging issues.
Essential Requirements
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent relevant working experience in project management.
- Experience in development and delivery of projects, including the development of project plans, monitoring of project timelines, budgets and reporting requirements, and contract administration.
