The role:
We are seeking an experienced Manager, Design Technology to join the Digital Information Office and lead the design and delivery of innovative cloud-based solutions across a dynamic and evolving public sector landscape. This is a senior leadership role where you will shape architectural strategy, champion cloud transformation, and manage a team of high-performing Solution Architects to deliver scalable, secure and future-ready technology outcomes.
Partnering closely with business leaders and technology stakeholders, you will spearhead enterprise-wide initiatives aligned with the department’s strategic goals. Your deep expertise in cloud platforms, architecture frameworks, and agile delivery will be instrumental in guiding best practices and technical direction. This is a unique opportunity for a tech-savvy leader who excels at balancing strategic vision, team leadership, and hands-on execution—delivering impactful solutions that drive digital transformation across one of the state’s most important public sector agencies.

What you will bring to the role:
- Proven leadership experience managing and motivating technical teams, with the ability to drive performance and build architectural capability.
- Deep knowledge of cloud platforms, solution architecture, and emerging technologies within complex enterprise environments.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate and consult at senior levels across government and industry.
- Strategic thinking with a hands-on approach to delivering outcomes, balancing long-term vision with day-to-day project demands.
- Resilience and adaptability when navigating shifting priorities, tight deadlines, and multi-stakeholder environments.
- A passion for continuous improvement, innovation and aligning technology solutions to business needs and public value.
- Confidence in decision-making, working autonomously, and taking ownership of significant architectural and project delivery outcomes.
Key knowledge and experience
- Extensive experience architecting, designing in highly complex enterprise environment.
- Experience leading a team to develop and deliver design services and solutions for customers.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills proven in project delivery in a complex enterprise environment.
Essential requirements
- Tertiary qualification in computer science or related field and/or recognised cloud and industry certifications.
