  • TRP from $216,664 - $240,745 including superannuation, commensurate with experience

 

This is a unique executive level opportunity within the Development Assessment and Sustainability / Planning Group leading the Housing Delivery Authority’s declarations process helping to unlock housing supply across NSW.

 

As the Director Housing Delivery Authority Declarations, you’ll lead the secretariat functions and expression of interest process for the Housing and Development Authority and set the future direction for planning panels across NSW. You’ll work with internal teams, local councils, applicants and other stakeholders to guide proposals to declaration—ensuring processes are timely, transparent, and strategically aligned.

 

You’ll need to balance tight deadlines, high expectations, and policy priorities in a fast-paced and often politically sensitive environment. Your ability to lead a team, make evidence-based decisions, and maintain strong relationships will be key to driving outcomes that meet both community needs and government objectives.

About You

You’ll bring a strong mix of planning expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership to guide the complex EOI and panel reform process through a fast-paced and high-impact process. Your experience navigating planning systems, managing stakeholders, and balancing competing priorities means you know how to deliver outcomes without losing sight of detail or quality.

 

You’re confident working across agencies, leading teams, and making evidence-based decisions—even when the pressures on. With your ability to think ahead, influence effectively, and stay focused on the end goal, you’ll play a key role in unlocking housing that meets the needs of communities across NSW.

 

Essential requirements

  • Degree qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Extensive knowledge and experience working within the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, related policies and guidelines
  • Significant knowledge of the workings of government and in-depth knowledge and experience working with applicable legislation, regulations and governance policies.
  • Experience at a senior executive level managing large and complex resources to achieve key organisational objectives.
