We’re currently seeking a highly capable and motivated leader to step into a pivotal 12-month executive opportunity as the Director Strategy and Governance within the Office of the Secretary.

As the Director Strategy and Governance, you will lead a small team in the provision of trusted strategic, policy and business advice to senior leaders within the Department. You’ll also lead Department-wide governance, strategy and performance initiatives; be responsible for preparing high-level briefings, reports and correspondence for the Secretary and Ministers; and represent the Department on inter-agency initiatives to help steer NSW Government’s reform agenda.

This is an exciting opportunity which enables you to make a tangible impact as you’ll support the Secretary, Executive team and Ministers by driving key strategies, governance initiatives and organisational reforms that will shape the future of our department.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will be a confident and credible leader with extensive experience providing high-level support and strategic advisory services to senior executives and Ministers. You will also have demonstrated experience in strategic planning, executive services, and the successful delivery of policy, program and/or reform initiatives.

The key to your success will be your ability to influence and negotiate with senior stakeholders and a strong commitment to building relationships, customer service and delivering quality outcomes. It is essential that you are solutions-focused, politically astute, and can deliver in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and high expectations.

Additionally, you will demonstrate strong leadership and coaching skills with a track record of driving high performance and continuous improvement within a team.
