The role
In this role as Senior Partner Diversity & Inclusion, you’ll play a pivotal role in fostering a more inclusive and equitable workplace. You’ll work closely with employee networks, senior leaders and external partners to listen, learn and co-design programs that transform diversity and belonging at our department. From developing impactful strategies and training to championing cultural change across the sector, you’ll help create an environment where people feel represented, supported and valued.
You'll navigate complex systems and diverse perspectives while ensuring meaningful engagement across every level of the organisation. You’ll manage reporting, timelines and multiple initiatives—ensuring progress is inclusive, sustainable, and aligned with departmental goals. This role is all about empowering others and embedding lasting change through collaboration and accountability.

What you will bring to the role
- Excellent communication skills: Critical for consulting with stakeholders, leading inclusive conversations, and shaping clear and impactful messaging around diversity programs.
- Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills: This role thrives on forging strong relationships with internal teams, networks, and external partners to deliver inclusive initiatives.
- Empathy and emotional intelligence: Central to understanding lived experiences, identifying barriers, and creating meaningful programs that reflect the voices of diverse communities.
- Skilled at delivering outcomes through inclusive collaboration and stakeholder engagement: Vital for balancing delivery with collaboration, ensuring both progress and buy-in across the Department.
- Deep cultural competence and awareness: Able to navigate complex and intersectional diversity contexts, with sensitivity to systemic barriers and lived experiences.
- Proficiency in designing inclusive programs and training: Skilled in creating learning experiences and communications that promote belonging and foster accountability.
- Strategic mindset aligned with legislative and sector priorities: Able to connect departmental goals with evolving diversity and inclusion frameworks and best practice.
- Demonstrates strong working knowledge of diversity, inclusion and belonging legislation, coupled with hands-on experience delivering government-led initiatives aligned with sector frameworks and compliance requirements.
Key Knowledge and experience
- Previous experience developing and implementing diversity and inclusion strategies and programs.
Essential requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Diversity and Inclusion, HR, Business, Engagement or other relevant experience
