About the Role
National Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunity for a Team Leader to join the Wildlife Programs and Regulation Unit and work as part of the team to contribute to the conservation of the natural environment, flora and fauna.
As Team Leader you will lead and manage a team of multi–disciplinary specialists to regulate wildlife under the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016 (BC Act). This includes licensing, compliance, wildlife management and rehoming, plant licensing and non-commercial kangaroo management. This roles further supports the wildlife rehabilitation sector and supports the delivery conservation programs such as the NSW Koala Strategy..
About You
We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Team Leader who is a self-starter and confidently manages competing priorities in a complex environment with conflicting stakeholder priorities. You are an excellent communicator both verbally and in writing and work collaboratively across various teams and a range of stakeholders. You are experienced at leading multi-disciplinary teams and are passionate about creating better outcomes for wildlife. Regulatory experience is highly desirable.
Essential requirements
- Extensive experience in analysis, problem solving and project management with a proven ability to identify issues and manage competing priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage a team to consistently deliver high-quality customer service against agreed performance standards.
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated relevant, equivalent professional experience.
