We are seeking a self-motivated and pro-active individual to manage correspondence and information between the Office of Sport and the Minister for Sport’s Office.

 

  • Work in an exciting, fast paced environment, gain insight into Government operations and build working relationships across government.
  • Salary ranges from $113,574 to $ 125,720 + super & leave loading.
  • Temporary (12 months) full-time opportunity with possibility of extension.
  • Based at Office of the Minister for Sport (Martin Place, Sydney).

About the role
As the central point of contact between the Minister’s Office and the Office of Sport this role plays a pivotal role in ensuring smooth communication and coordination between both offices. You will provide high-quality executive and administrative support with professionalism, discretion, and initiative. From managing correspondence and coordinating timely responses to preparing parliamentary materials and meeting briefs, you will help keep everything on track. Building strong relationships across both offices will be key to ensuring seamless flow of information and supporting the delivery of ministerial priorities.

About you

Our ideal candidate will bring to the role:

  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to liaise with senior stakeholders.
  • Proven experience supporting government operations behind the scenes, with a proactive mindset and the ability to anticipate and resolve issues efficiently.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to build trusted relationships across teams.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem solving, prioritisation skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

To be eligible to apply for this position, you must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident or hold a valid Australian working Visa for the duration of the appointment. Any offer of employment will be subject to a satisfactory National Police Check and Pre-Employment Health Assessment.
