Join us in driving impactful change by transforming the NSW electricity system! 
Lead the implementation of the Network Infrastructure Strategy to providing 20 year blue print for the transformation of the NSW electricity system 

 

  • Internal expression of interest for temporary part time opportunity  
  • 21 hours per week (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday) for up to 7 months 
  • Sydney location with Hybrid working from home and office supported 
  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $125,693 to $138,510 pro rata + super 


Our EnergyCo NSW Planning and Communities team is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Policy and Project Officer to manage and coordinate complex projects for strategic policy and legislative advice and development infrastructure works that will inform decision-making relating to the work of the Energy Corporation of NSW. 

This is an opportunity that doesn’t come up often… a government position with part time hours, job sharing with a supportive Senior Project and Policy Officer to form the second half of an up and coming dynamic duo! The team this role sits in is both supportive and collaborative and they will assist you to learn the technical skills required to thrive in this position.  

About You 
You’re an experienced operator with a proven track record delivering complex projects and policy initiatives in government. Your strength lies in building trusted relationships and influencing stakeholders to achieve meaningful outcomes. Backed by a strong understanding of current policy settings, community expectations, and delivery frameworks, you bring insight and impact. Bonus points if you bring grants experience, too. 

Adaptable, collaborative and ready to hit the ground running, you thrive in dynamic, fast-paced teams and are equally comfortable to step into a job share arrangement. The Energy Corporation of NSW (EnergyCo) is a statutory corporation established under the Energy and Utilities Administration Act 1987 and governed by its Board, appointed by the Minister for Energy.  EnergyCo is a Staff Agency employing all EnergyCo staff and is an agency related to the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW).  

EnergyCo plays a pivotal role in the NSW Government’s Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap, which aims to transform the state’s electricity system into one that is cheap, clean, and reliable. As Infrastructure Planner under the Electricity Infrastructure Investment Act 2020, EnergyCo is responsible for leading the delivery of the State’s first five Renewable Energy Zones (REZs) and the first two priority transmission infrastructure projects (PTIPs), which are located in the Central-West Orana, New England, South West, Hunter-Central Coast, and Illawarra regions. We work closely with communities, investors, and industry to investigate, plan, recommend and coordinate generation, storage and network infrastructure projects.
