  • Salary relative to experience and ranges from $149,739 - $173,174 + super

 

At the heart of the New South Wales (NSW) planning system, the Planning Group takes centre stage. Driven by the NSW Government’s unwavering commitment to tackle the critical housing issue, we provide essential support and strategic guidance. The Planning Land Use Strategy, Housing and Infrastructure (PLUSHI) team are the driving force behind the Department's strategic planning, policy, rezoning, and infrastructure projects, all aimed at making New South Wales a better place to live.

 

The role

Our Executive Officer provides high level administrative and operational support enabling the facilitation and the achievement of organisational and management objectives and serves as a focal point for all matters that require the direct intervention of the Executive Director Governance and Insights.

 

About You

Provide high level advice on a full range of diverse and complex issues and projects, establish effective governance arrangements for the Executive, councils and advisory groups and ensure the provision of appropriate secretariat support to facilitate effective operation.

You will monitor and proactively contribute to development of Departmental and Cluster strategic and corporate planning activities and processes, to ensure that planning milestones and reporting requirements are satisfied and effectively lead and deliver high level cross-divisional projects, significant reform initiatives, and key internal and external reporting functions to meet strategic and operational objective. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, Word) and strong document management skills are essential.

 

  • Direct Liaison: Act as an executive point of contact, liaise with stakeholders, and coordinate communications to meet deadlines.
  • Brief Preparation: Prepare briefs for the Minister's Office and executive
  • Communication Guru: Prepare, manage, and review high-level correspondence, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Strategic Advisor: Research and prepare strategic advice, information, and reports on diverse and complex policy, planning, and operational matters.
  • Collaborative Partner: Work closely with executives and subject matter experts to deliver timely and effective advice and reports.

Key Knowledge and Experience

  • Extensive knowledge, skills and experience at a senior level in Government protocols and procedures, including Cabinet and inter-government protocols and processes
  • Experience in brief writing and supporting an executive leadership team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
