About the Role:

As the Director, Business Application Management Services, you will lead a dynamic team of approximately 60 core staff, scaling up to 100 during peak delivery periods. This pivotal role sits within the Digital Information Office of the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure and is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of business application services across a diverse technology landscape.

You will oversee the support, maintenance, and enhancement of critical business applications and integrations, including enterprise systems and external third-party platforms. Your remit includes database services (MS SQL and Oracle), and a broad range of technology stacks such as bespoke .NET, Oracle, Java, PHP, Salesforce, PowerApps, Outsystems, and Pega.

This role is instrumental in driving strategic outcomes through the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and efficient digital solutions. You will lead application portfolio management, ensure technology currency, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. With multiple high-impact programs underway—such as the Biodiversity Offset Scheme (BAMC, BOAMS), Energy Social Programs, ASP Installer Solutions, and Save Our Species—you’ll play a key role in delivering innovative solutions that support customer outcomes and public value.

You are a visionary leader with deep expertise in business application services and digital transformation. With a proven track record in managing large, geographically dispersed teams in agile environments, you bring a collaborative and strategic mindset to everything you do.

Your experience spans the full lifecycle of application development and support, including integration, platform management, vendor engagement, and service delivery. You are adept at navigating complex stakeholder environments, influencing outcomes, and driving alignment with organisational priorities.

You thrive in fast-paced settings and are passionate about delivering high-quality, customer-focused digital solutions. Your technical acumen is matched by your ability to inspire teams, foster innovation, and champion best practices in application portfolio management. You bring strong capabilities in strategic planning, supplier management, and systems development, and are committed to embedding security, privacy, and sustainability into every solution.
