About the role

National Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunity for a Team Leader Visitor Experience to work as part of the team and contribute towards the conservation of the natural environment, flora, fauna and Aboriginal heritage.

 

This pivotal role is responsible for leading the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service South Coast Branch visitor experience program. The Team Leader Visitor Experience manages a dispersed team located from Illawarra Highlands to Eden, developing and delivering visitor experiences (leisure, education and small events), visitor services, volunteering, tourism industry liaison and stakeholder communications. Specific responsibilities include the operations and service delivery of Fitzroy Falls Visitor Centre, Minnamurra Rainforest Centre, the NPWS Discovery guided tour program, Barunguba Montague Island visitor program, multi-day walks including coordinating transport, tours and accommodation and supporting camping and roofed accommodation management in parks and reserves. Relationship management and communication with licensed commercial tour operators, internal and external stakeholders and coordinating filming and event management approvals are key.

 

 

About You

We are looking for a leader with demonstrated experience in tourism, accommodation, or visitor management, who can build revenue and business opportunities, set program and work priorities, problem solve and effectively manage a dispersed team. You will be accountable for setting and managing and reporting program and visitor centre budgets and service delivery commitments, plus ensuring the quality, integrity and accuracy of advice provided in relation to the delivery of visitor services.

 

Essential Requirements

  • Demonstrated expertise in the management and delivery of visitor experience strategies and services including experience development, marketing and consumer communications, distribution and delivery of on-the-ground visitor services.
  • Current NSW Driver’s Licence
  • Ability to work after hours, including weekends, as required.
