About the role
The Environmental Water Planning Team leads the provision of science, modelling and planning to support the Water for the Environment program.
The Team Leader Ecohydrology role reports to the Senior Team Leader, Environmental Water Planning and leads a small sub-team of ecohydrologists with the following responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate and undertake ecohydrological analysis to support environmental water use planning, projects and programs.
- Coordinate scientific input to the Reconnecting River Country and Enhanced Environmental Water Delivery program including the management of projects and technical work (ecohydrological analysis and reporting)
- Providing expertise in computer-based analysis of spatial and hydrological data
The Team Leader Ecohydrology role is responsible for ecohydrology team work-planning, project management and delivery of technical work.
About You
To be successful in the role, you will need to be an effective team collaborator and leader who can use your people management, technical and project management skills to navigate challenging ecohydrological analytical tasks and deliver accurate results. You will have experience working in a team on water or aquatic ecosystem related projects, and technical skills in programming (R or Python), and one or more of hydrological modelling (Source), hydraulic modelling, or ecohydrological analysis. Knowledge and experience in the subject areas of climate and/or salinity risk to freshwater ecosystems (while not required) are highly sought after.
